KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 — Cuepacs and Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) will be organising a conference to find the best ways to resolve the housing woes of civil servants and members of cooperatives.
Cuepacs president Datuk Azih Muda said the inaugural convention will be held on March 1 and 2 either here or in Putrajaya.
“The recommendations from the convention will be forwarded to the government so that the matter can be addressed effectively,” he told a press conference here today.
He added that a quick solution must be found to this issue as it was important to Malaysia’s goal of attaining developed nation status by 2020.
Meanwhile, ANGKASA president Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah, who was also present, said two million of the eight million members of 12,500 cooperatives nationwide were civil servants.
