15 September, JOHOR BAHRU – In conjunction with the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival this year, Country Garden Danga Bay has teamed up with the Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association to organize the 20th Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival Opening Ceremony.
Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association president Datuk Seri Tey Kim Chai, Johor Women Development and Tourism Committee chairman Liow Cai Tung, General Manager of Country Garden Malaysia Regional Sales and Marketing department Zhao Liang were the guests of honour at the opening ceremony which was attended by more than 1000 homeowners and guests.
“Country Garden Malaysia is honoured to be the partner of The 20th Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival with Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association. Coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Country Garden Danga Bay this year, we are delighted to celebrate the traditional Chinese festival with our residents from all over the world. Danga Bay has met opportunities as well as challenges during the past five years. There were not only difficulties but also the joy of harvest, ” said General Manager of Country Garden Malaysia Regional Sales and Marketing department Zhao Liang in his speech.
Zhao Liang also said, “The buyers of Country Garden Danga Bay are from over 20 different countries. It comprised 30 percent each from China, Singapore and Malaysia, while the remaining 10 percent were from other countries”. For Danga Bay project, around 6,000 units have been handed over progressively since last year. Currently, there are 1,000 households which are being occupied in Danga Bay. As time goes on, he believed that there will be more owners moving in.
The event began with an energetic 24-season drum performance. One of the highlights was the giant lantern and a variety of other illuminated decor lights that liven up the night. There are jade rabbit-shaped lanterns and tent-type lighting devices filled with greetings combining fashion and tradition. In addition, Country Garden Danga Bay also entertained the revellers with a series of exciting and interesting performances like Chinese Orchestra, folk dance and a colourful show featuring a spectacular line-up of talented local artists.
Another attraction was the Danga Bay Night Market which assembled over 100 stalls selling local food and a multitude of apparels and accessories along the street in Country Garden Danga Bay.
The event was also deemed meaningful especially for the homeowners as this is the first ever Chinese traditional festival since they moved into the community; most of them have the diverse background, language and culture. To help owners familiarize with the local environment and settle in, Country Garden Danga Bay has also established the Danga Bay Community which will bring homeowners with similar interests together. It will continue to hold a variety of community activities for its residents in the future. To date, homeowners at Country Garden Danga Bay have also organized lots of activities by themselves to create a harmonious community.
