17 December, KUALA LUMPUR – The train schedule for the KTM Komuter service for the Port Klang-Tanjung Malim-Port Klang route will be changed effective this Dec 21 following maintenance and repair of the railway tracks.
KTM Berhad, in a statement, said the change would affect the schedule on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the fourth and fifth week of December and the first week of January next year.
“Maintenance work of the tracks will be carried out continuously for 30 hours from 11 pm on Friday until 5 am on Sunday in three phases and only involves the commuter train, it said.
For the first phase (from Dec 21 to 23), the change would involve 19 Komuter trains (eight trains from KLSentral and 11 trains from Port Klang), , while the second phase (Dec 28 to 30) will involve 22 Komuter trains (14 trains from Port Klang) and eight trains from KLSentral).
The third phase (from Jan 4, 6, 2019), it will involve six trains (one train from KLSentral and five trains from Port Klang).
“The track maintenance work has to be conducted for safety reason, as well as for the convenience of the train journey for the KLSentral-Port Klang route, it said.
IT also said KTMB would station adequate personnel to assist passengers at affected stations while maintenance work was in progress.
