Melaka, 27 April – Mah Sing Foundation, charity arm of Mah Sing Group, has donated 1,000 plastic chairs to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Pay Fong 1, Melaka, amounting to RM21,221.20.
This initiative is in line with the Group’s new vision that focuses on enhancing lives for a better tomorrow. “We are pleased to lend a helping hand to the children of SJK (C) Pay Fong 1”. Chairman of Mah Sing Foundation, Dato’ Indera Syed Norulzaman bin Syed Kamarulzaman said. “These children are Malaysia’s next generation and deserve the opportunity to study in a more conducive environment.”
The chairs were made by Mah Sing Plastics Industries (MSPI), the plastics division of the Group. Established in 1979, MSPI has delivered nearly 4 decades of quality plastic manufacturing, as it provides to both the local and international markets.
The cheque hand-over coincided with the retirement of the school’s Principal, Mr. Low Chee Meng, who called time on an illustrious 37-year service in the education system that humbly began as a teacher in SJK Kerdau, Mentakab, Pahang in 1980.
Mr. Yeo Siew Chong, Chairman of Board of Directors of SJK (C) Pay Fong 1 took the opportunity to thank both the Group and Mr. Low in his light-hearted speech, “You children here are very lucky today. Without Mah Sing, all of us would be sitting on the floor”, he joked. We want to thank Mr. Low for his tremendous service to this school. He has always put the students’ well-being before all. With that, on behalf of SJK Pay Fong 1, we would like to sincerely thank Mah Sing Group for helping us achieve this cause.”
The children of SJK (C) Pay Fong 1 honoured their departing Principal with stunning performances such as the Korean Dance, Wushu performances and choir singing. The ceremony hit a sentimental note as the students gathered to perform an original song for their departing Principal.
