Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd, Wanda Hotels & Resorts And Sino Great Wall Co Ltd To Undertake RM1.5 Billion Project In Langkawi

LANGKAWI, August 8 — Property developer, Cenang Resort Sdn Bhd, has forged strategic partnerships with Wanda Hotels & Resorts and Sino Great Wall Co Ltd to undertake a mixed development project, the Wanda Realm Resort Langkawi, with a total gross development value of RM1.55 billion.

Cenang Resort Chairman, Datuk Wira Abdullah Hasnan Kamaruddin, said the development, to be completed by end-2023, would be located on 2.14 hectares of prime freehold land fronting the Andaman Sea, and was earmarked to be an iconic addition to the Langkawi skyline.

“We believe that this development meets the needs for high-end, seafront resort-living lifestyle, one that is tailored to further boost the growth of the local tourism and services industry.

“We hope this project will meet the demand and requirements of luxury tourism, and also raise the standard of facilities and services offered,” he said at the ceremony to announce the partnership here today.

Also present was Kedah Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.

Under the partnership, both Cenang Resort and Wanda Hotels & Resorts would be spearheading the resort management for the mixed development project, comprising a hotel, two 40-storey residential towers and commercial components, while Sino Great Wall acts as the contractor for the project.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Bashah said, the project was expected to provide growth opportunities for the island’s tourism and property industry.

“Tourism has emerged as a powerful vehicle for economic transformation, job creation and infrastructure development in Langkawi.

“Langkawi has emerged as an attractive option for property development and property investment, and we believe that this development will help to spur the socio-economic development in the local communities through the creation of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities,” he said.

Tower A is expected to be completed by end-2021, while Tower B and its commercial component are scheduled to be completed by end-2022.

Meanwhile, Cenang Resort had also launched its Property Gallery, showcasing the various components of the development and would also serve as a one-stop customer service centre.

The gallery will be opened to the public starting tomorrow, from Monday to Sunday, between 10am-7pm.
