Bukit Jalil 1MPHP completed 17 months ahead of schedule

6 February, KUALA LUMPUR – The Bukit Jalil 1Malaysia Public Housing Project (1MPHP) was completed 17 months ahead of schedule enabling 1,536 civil servants to have and move into their own home today.

The house key handing over ceremony was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Developed by Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd, the project was launched on April 8, 2015 and scheduled to be completed in May 2019.

The units ranged from 1,000 sq ft to 1,434 sq ft in size and cost between RM150,000 and RM300,000 each. The current market value for a 1,434 sq ft unit is around RM500,000.

The Bukit Jalil 1MPHP consists of two blocks with basic facilities such as a clinic, surau, kindergarten, nursery, playground and a multipurpose hall that can accommodate 600 people. It is the first 1MPHP-Federal Government endeavour and initiative to provide affordable housing to Support Group B40 civil servants.

To date, the government has approved the construction of 135,456 1MPHP units involving 433 projects nationwide, of which 17,191 units (22 projects) are in Kuala Lumpur.

The projects are monitored by the 1MPHP Unit under the Prime Minister’s Department.
