BSA plants 1,000 tree in its Green The City effort

Seri Alam Properties Sdn Bhd (SAP) continues its effort in greening Bandar Seri Alam (BSA) township. An event was organized involving BSA communities who joined hand in the greening effort by planting 1,000 trees. The effort is in line with the township’s 1,000 tree planting event held at Taman Tasek Tun Jeanne in 2015 and BSA’s vision towards achieving Green Garden City by 2020.

Executive Director SAP Sdn Bhd, Mr Freddie Lee said in his opening remarks during the “Green Path @ Bandar Seri Alam” event, the effort is part of SAP’s Corporate Social Responsibility to make the township green and healthy for everyone in the community. Presently, our vibrant township has 80,000 residents and in the rise due to our recently completed project and forthcoming developments.

“We view Green environment as one of the important elements of a sustainable township. For that reason, BSA has created our own nursery where we have propagated 25,000 trees to-date. For today’s event, we will be planting 1,000 Eugenia and Bucida trees at our Gravity Green area known for its F&B outlets, IPD Seria Alam, Vista Seri Alam and MRSM.”

En Zabidin Bin Bedut, Pricipal of MRSM Johor Bahru, expressed his gratitude to SAP for contributing 200 trees to the school and organizing the tree planting event. He said the trees will further beautify the school compound and make the area more conducive for the students.

“I am happy that SAP has agreed to provide the trees as this will give our students the opportunity to appreciate and take care of the trees in line with our school Green project” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Sangaran Muthiah Chairman of Vista Seri Alam Resident Committee said he thanks SAP for inviting the committee to be part of this meaningful event.

“The Resident Committee would like to thank Seri Alam for the opportunity and for providing us with 200 trees to make our residential more green.” He said.

The tree planting session was participated by more than 200 people and YB Datuk Hajah Normala Abdul Samad, Member of Parliament Pasir Gudang had gracefully officiated the event.

In addition to its Green effort, BSA is also looking into the implementation of various projects to benefit the community namely the establishment of the third General Hospital, Foon Yew High School and Lee Chong Wei International Sports City to train future sporting talents. It is also in a dialogue with the state government to develop medium and low cost project in the township.
