24 February, JOHOR BAHRU – In conjunction with the Chinese New Year festive season, UMLand Seri Austin have successfully organized a Chinese New Year celebration at Seri Austin gallery for the residents and business associates to enjoy a community reunion. The event kicked off with the thundering beats of the drums and clashing of the gongs and cymbals accompanied by the energetic lion and dragon dance.
It was later followed by a “Yee Sang” tossing ceremony, which symbolized the well wishes of good health and prosperity to the residents in Seri Austin. Visitors were also treated to a traditional Chinese experience with various performances such as Chinese percussions and dance, Wushu and also Chinese Yoyo. In addition, Master Paw, a well-known Feng Shui master who combines Feng Shui and interior design in Iskandar Malaysia, was also present to conduct a Feng Shui and Zodiac consultation by her team to those who seek to improve their luck and wealth for the Lunar New Year.
“The Chinese Lunar New Year is widely celebrated by the Chinese community in Malaysia and also around the world as it marks the beginning of a new year in the Chinese lunar calendar. Rahman, Mayor of Johor Bahru City Council, YBhg Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Chief Executive of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Rajpal Singh, Consulate General-Singapore and ASP Tuan Mazlan Morsidi, Police Head of Balai Polis Bandar Dato’ Onn.
Mr Wong also said that based on the response, feedbacks and results of 2017 Q4, the property outlook for 2018 is very positive.
