Kuala Lumpur, 24 June 2016 – AkzoNobel, the leading paints and coatings company and producer of Dulux paints today launched the new version of its Dulux Visualizer app during a Buka Puasa event held at One World Hotel. The Visualizer app created for iOS and Android is a pioneering app that uses innovative technology to help consumers see, share and paint in their chosen colours in real time.
Now with newly added features of taking videos, consumers can capture a video of their walls and experiment with hundreds of different colours that would suit their wall. If consumers see a colour somewhere that inspires them, the ingenious Colour Picker technology can be used to instantly match and try it out.
The award-winning app uses cutting-edge technology (augmented reality and video visualization) to show colours in a room in real time. Launched in May 2014 and has been downloaded over 10 million times, this new version will be rolled out in over 40 markets this year, starting with the Netherlands, Turkey, France, India, Indonesia, Argentina, and Russia.
Once consumers have found a colour of their choice, they can either purchase their paint or find a store closest to them via the store locator function in the app. Finally, if consumers are second guessing their choice of colour, they can upload their chosen colour on social media and share it with family and friends to get a second opinion on the chosen colour.
“AkzoNobel has a long and distinguished history and our brands, partners, customers, service providers and our media friends are crucial to the success of our company,” said Indra Laban, General Manager of AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
Indra further commented, “At AkzoNobel, we continue to create everyday essentials to make people’s lives more livable and inspiring. Colour has the power to change people’s lives and we’re delighted that with the new and improved Visualizer 3.0 app, it will allow and give people the freedom to experiment and make bolder choices with their colour selections. Picking the right colour for the festive season is now made easy with the Visualizer 3.0 app.”
“We are constantly looking and finding ways to understand our Malaysian consumers behaviour. We thus look into any emerging trends, innovations and technologies to help us stay ahead of the curve,” explained Mr. Laban. “We want to deliver products and colours that people want. Visualizer is a tool designed to give consumers confidence to try new colours quicker and see the potential end result of their purchase, and to share with their friends and families to get their opinions on chosen colours.”
