20 March, KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 88,917 houses were developed under the Federal Territories Affordable Housing (RUMAWIP) programme as of last month, surpassing the initial target of 80,000 units by 2020.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the number comprised 124 projects in the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, either in the ‘Completed’, ‘Under Construction’ or ‘Development Order’ categories.
“Of the total, 15 projects or 8,824 units were completed and now ready for occupation, such as the ones in Residensi Pandan Mas, Residensi Sentul Mas, Suasana Lumayan and Residensi Rampai.”
“Although we have surpassed our target, we will keep on building (affordable homes) if there are demands from the public,” he said at the launch and drawing of units for Kiara Kasih RUMAWIP Condominium here today.
The 40-storey condominium project, which houses 719 units with a built up of 850 sq ft each, is a joint-venture project between the Federal Territories Ministry, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and UEM Sunrise Berhad.
“Each unit comes with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a parking lot. It is priced at only RM300,000 per unit and expected to be completed in 2022.”
“Comfortable facilities will also be made available, such as swimming pool, gymnasium, recreational area, reading room and surau. In addition, it is strategically located and accessible with a variety of public transports which would be convenient to the residents,” said Tengku Adnan.
