15 January, SIBU – The first 86 units out of 813 houses under Sarawak’s Rumah Pertiwiku affordable housing project in Kemuyang, 24km from here, will be ready for occupation early next year.
Built based on the industrialised building system, each of the houses costing between RM90,000 and RM150,000 only takes 21 days to complete.
Sarawak Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health Dr Annuar Rapa’ee said 58 units have already been allocated for the Kampung Datu Lama dwellers who lost their houses in a fire incident in June 2013.
In this first phase, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) will be building 110 houses while Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) will be building 76 houses. All are detached houses, some stilted and some are landed, he said.
Dr. Annuar, who is Nangka State Assemblyman, was speaking to reporters after visiting the demo units of the houses at the site of the project today.
