KUALA LUMPUR, 17 March: A total of 4,243 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) residential units have been sold to-date since 2013.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said the total units sold is expected to rise as more PR1MA projects have been opened for sale.
He said the PR1MA project have adopted innovative measures in its constructions and is conducting roadshows nationwide to boost sales.
“PR1MA is currently holding a series of Open Day programmes, which comes in a one-stop centre concept to assist potential PR1MA buyers,” he said.
Shahidan was responding to Datuk Shabudin Yahaya (BN-Tasek Gelugor), who had asked the number of PR1MA units sold and what are the new innovations implemented.
He said the PR1MA developer is implementing Industrialised Building System (IBS) in its developments to improve the quality of the projects.
Shahidan said PR1MA has formulated a complete IBS ecosystem, to ensure innovative methods are used in every step of the construction and development.
It also takes into account construction period, optimum cost utilisation and guaranteed product quality.
“It has been proven that by using IBS, construction period is shortened by 40% compared to the conventional method,” Shahidan said.
He said, for example, the construction of two units of showhouses in 60 days, would have taken 3-6 months via the conventional construction method.
Currently, a total of 18,919 PR1MA residential units are being developed using the IBS ecosystem.
