PUTRAJAYA, April 11— A total of 41,880 applications have been received so far for 19,225 units of the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Homes (PPA1M) on offer, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.
“There is a high demand for PPA1M residential units,” he said when launching the signing of the Putrajaya PPAA1M Phase One Sales and Purchase Agreement, here, Monday.
The idea of Putrajaya PPA1M was mooted by Ali in 2013 to fulfil the aspirations of civil servants to own affordable homes in Putrajaya.
Ali said he hoped the PPA1M Unit and Putrajaya Corporation would continue making great strides in developing PPA1M to ensure the houses were ready within the time frame set by the government.
He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak wanted the Putrajaya PPA1M projects to be completed on schedule, and that he (Ali) had personally been updating the prime minister on the developments.
Putrajaya Corporation in a statement issued today said 7,872 PPA1M Putrajaya Phase One home buyers would be signing the sales and purchase agreement in stages from today until the end of this month.
Putrajaya PPA1M Phase One is expected to be completed by 2017, and all 7,872 public servants are set to own homes with government-controlled prices of between RM150,000 and RM300,000 with built-up areas of 1,000 sq ft, 1,200 sq ft, and 1,500 sq ft.
“The next draw for PPA1M will be in June 2016, involving applicants who have not been successful previously,” the statement said.
