26 June, JOHOR – The landscape of Medini, Iskandar Puteri is further enhanced with the opening of the new office building, Medini 9. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the Chief Minister of Johor, YAB Dato’ Osman Sapian and present alongside the Chief Minister was the Mayor of Iskandar Puteri, Tuan Haji Adib Azhari Daud.
The completion period for the development of Medini 9 took 31 months, from the time of planning to groundwork, piling work and up to physical completion. Throughout its construction period, this project recorded a 1.98 million man-hour free of any incident or fatality. This diamond-shape building, rising 95m high from ground has two wings with 15 storeys of office space, five levels of podium carpark and a ground floor dedicated for retail space. Additionally, the building has two levels of basement carpark, delivering a total of 540 car park bays. It is to-date the tallest corporate office building in Medini City, located within the boundary of MSC Cybercentre. This new building has 812,000 square feet of gross floor area, and over RM300million of gross development value (GDV).
Medini 9 is located just adjacent to the Medini Green Parks (Heritage Forest and the Edible Park) and this makes the building an ideal choice for companies seeking a prominent building located in the setting of a lush green area. The building has sky decks that allow people to enjoy the greenery of the nearby parks.
Built according to the specification MSC-status building, Medini 9 has both smart and green features such as integrated fire alarm & monitoring system, sophisticated security system, cantilevered glass pods and solar power for common areas. Medini 9 is also a Green Building Index (GBI) certified building.

The tenants consist of prominent local and international companies and they are Ernst & Young, Iskandar Investment Berhad, OK BLOCKCHAIN CENTRE, Deluxe Game, Okakichi, edotco, DayThree, Brandt International, Aegis, Eximus, Geodis, DHL, CO3, Fujikura and SGShop.

The other Japanese companies Deluxe Games Sdn Bhd and OKAKICHI Sdn Bhd will develop and propose new games development methods that cultivated in Japan suited for Malaysians. Yoshiki Okamoto, Representative Director of OKAKICHI Co., Ltd (Japan) said, “We will provide lectures and open learning places for Malaysian citizens who want to be involved in game development. We will offer free lectures on game development to Malaysians conducted by specialised lecturers who are film directors and cartoonists. We focus on talent and expect to make employees affluent through our programme. We are committed to enliven the dreams and hopes of Johor youths.”
Among the many tenants announced today for Medini 9 is the designated integrated telecommunications infrastructure provider, edotco. Suresh Sidhu, Chief Executive Officer of edotco Group said, “edotco continuously drives innovation in telecommunications infrastructure solutions to connect people and industries. Partnerships of this nature are key towards achieving our country’s Digital Agenda and we look forward to working closely with Medini in planning this Smart City, and supporting with the next wave of integrated communication technology.”
