Survey results show that the internet is the place to start looking
Aug 10, 2009

iProperty.com Asia Property Trends Survey 1H 2009 shows that Malaysian homebuyers are twice as likely to search online rather than in print for their property searches.

The results of the online survey which was conducted on iProperty.com Malaysia website from April to June 2009, shows that 54 percent of the respondents prefer to go online in their property search. 28 percent of them search newspapers, magazines and classifieds, while only a 10 percent will start searching by calling local real estate agents.

Interestingly, asking friends and family is also a step to begin their property search with seven percent of those surveyed choosing that method.

The iProperty.com Asia Property Trends Survey First Half 2009 aims to reveal trends among Asia property buyers; including the key motivations for purchasing property, the types of property they are interested in, the countries they are keen on, their budgets, and how they go about conducting their property search and property research methodologies.
