Aptly named Luxe, this project by Nevermore most certainly lives up to its moniker. Speaking to the Chuah Say Yang, the creative director of Nevermore, we delved into the makings of this one of a kind home.

When first approached by the homeowners, the interior designers were given a design brief that consisted of a European theme with marble features. There were endless possibilities as the home was spacious with gorgeous high ceilings. Say Yang noted that at the first site visit he saw so much potential for layout and space planning with this project that he was so keen to get started on the home.

It took a total of six weeks to transform this home and although it was a challenge to complete it in that timeframe, Nevermore made sure that quality was never compromised. With free reign over the design, Say Yang and his team worked around the clock to source materials that they knew would turn this home into a masterpiece. Inspired by classic European design elements, the home takes on a minimalist modern take featuring shades of brown, black, white and grey.

Walking into the unit, you will be in awe of its unique design and theme that flows naturally through the space. Utilising an open layout concept, Nevermore ensured that both occupants and visitors of the home can take in all the stunning features of the home without any hindrance. In order to achieve this, a ‘less is more’ notion was used in terms of decor and design, limiting furniture while incorporating ornate feature elements.

Although the living room, dining space, and bar all share the open layout, the spaces somehow have individual styles. The living room easily stands out as it features porcelain slabs that are popular in Europe and is used as a TV wall, giving the room a classy upgrade. Both the living room and dining room share a very traditional European feature, the classic French panelling that stretches between the two spaces. However, the bar hosts one of the highlights of the home, imported ice jade marble from China. The stunning watercolour like streaks of black, white, and grey are so eye-catching that it will leave a lasting impression on you.

Moving on towards the kitchen, Say Yang states that the arched partition that separates the spaces requires them to hack down a wall and create supporting structures to hold up the cast iron metal frame. The partition with glass panelling ensures sunlight flows through the home and into the kitchen as well. As for the bedrooms, the interior designers follow through with the colour concept and theme, curating dark wood and matt black features in cosy rooms. The common areas of the home may take on light and bright themes but the bedrooms maintain a dark and cosy ambient. In what can only be described as decadent, the master bedroom headboard ties the entire room together, making your bed the focal point.
