Dark wood, brown leather and the colour black – the strong usage of wood elements and colours are what lent Darren Lee’s home in Bukit Tunku its rustic feel.
“My home design is very much inspired by nature,” shares Darren. “I think an environment can affect the way you feel. To top it all, it’s very empowering to know that you’ve had a hand in building and designing your own home.”
Bukit Tunku’s natural lushness plays a big part in Lee’s decision to live there. “There’s this sense of calm and serenity when you’re surrounded by nature all the time,” says Lee.
In keeping with the theme, Lee also brought the elements of nature into his house by incorporating a lot of live plants. “I think it breathes life into the design because it’s more than just a piece of furniture.”
Darren Lee’s vision of his home design is indeed an inspiration. Check out how he achieved this rustic look in the video above.
