The latest bedroom trends you need to try now

test

Scrap ‘Beauty and the Beast’. It’s all about Beauty and the Bedroom this season. Here, we reveal the latest bedroom trends to lift your bedchamber game from zero to hero.

We spoke to three experts for their tips, tricks and advice on beautifying the boudoir this chilly season. You’re welcome…

Georgie Leckey, Heatherly Design founder and director

The bedroom trends I’m seeing at the moment are…

A move towards teal and all shades of green. There is also a growing love of leather and other natural fibres, as well as the oversized bedhead.

Bedheads that are trending are…

Low, wide bedheads reminiscent of five-star hotels. A bedhead can create an instant statement.

This season there’s a movement towards…

Pastels, cool tones and mustards in the bedroom, but I always prefer to look at an individual room, and its style, rather than follow the trends. I like to think a Heatherly Design bedhead is something that will last a lot longer than a simple trend.

Every cushion, throw or bedroom accessory needs…

To add a certain zing or je ne sais quoi to a room. I love seeing a bright and bold statement cushion next to one of our bedheads or a really lush colourful throw. These accessories can really set off a bedroom.

My go-to tip on styling a bedroom this season is…

‘Less is best’. That said I also like to add cool accessories or features to a bedroom as they can create a unique style in the boudoir.

The bedroom trends I’m seeing at the moment are…

Stunning earthy colours like eucalyptus, clay and sage in luxurious textures like velvet and denim with lots of fringing. I’m lucky enough to travel regularly for inspiration and the bedroom trends we’re seeing overseas are all about texture, texture and more texture. It’s what we’ve injected into our winter range.

My advice on styling a bedroom this season is…

Introduce some modern colours into your bed linen and quilt covers with the warm tones of clay, nude, fig and sage. I’m a big fan of colour but in the bedroom you want it to be soothing. Nothing too jarring.

My go-to for sheets and quilts this season is…

Our Maison linen and cotton range; it offers incredible warmth in winter and keeps you cool in summer.

The key elements to transform a boudoir from zero to hero are…

Soft lighting, a scented candle, and definitely a plant. These elements all contribute to the sense that your bedroom is your special place to recharge.

The bedroom trends I’m seeing at the moment are…

Warm, earthy colours. They make for a cosy environment and bold colours like cocoa and tobacco can really transform the look of a bedroom.

My go-to tip on styling a bedroom this season is…

Play with tactile, soft, cosy fabrics; think linen, cashmere and alpaca. You want your bedroom to feel as good as it looks in winter.

The materials I’m loving this winter are…

Warmer materials and finishes, such as darker timbers, as opposed to anything too Scandi or washed out. I’m also loving warm paint colours and tones. It just feels a little bit more ‘now’.
