The partially underwater Muraka villa at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is open – and it’s even lusher than we imagined.
In an article earlier this year, we revealed the villa was in its planning stages. Well, travellers, you’ll be happy to know it recently opened and it is quite literally the stuff dreams are made of.

Located at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, the ‘Muraka’ – which means coral in the native language of Dhivehi – has living quarters both above and 4.8m below the water.
With luxurious fixtures and fittings worthy of its multi-million-dollar build, it’s a one-of-a-kind hotel experience partially submerged in the glorious blue surrounds of the Indian Ocean and it’s sure to thrill.

The villa allows guests to watch aquatic life swim by on the ocean floor from the luxe underwater master suite.
It also features a living area and bathroom set against a background of colourful coral.

Above ground, the villa provides more than just your average hotel stay, too.
Not only will you have your own swimming pool, private entertaining deck and luxurious living spaces, you’ll also have access to a private butler and a speedboat with a driver at your service 24/7.

Upon booking, you can choose from your own tailored experience within the resort. From the thrill seeker to the foodie, the resort has something to keep everyone happy.
“The completion of The Muraka is a personal lifetime achievement,” says Ahmed Saleem, director at Crown Company and chief architect and designer of the residence, in a press release.

“After years in the making, my team and I are proud to officially present The Muraka residence and its accompanying Maldivian experience to worldly travellers who crave the extraordinary.”
Now for the bit you really want to know: The cost.
A four-night stay for two people includes a seaplane journey to the residence and exclusive use of the resort’s yachts and starts at $US250,000.
It should barely make a dent in your wallet (ahem)…
