Properties in Johor has long been a hot topic amongst Malaysians and foreigners in recent years. In 2019, Johor remains the state with the highest overhang units in the whole of Malaysia and it’s partly due to the massive price tag that comes with it.

In fact, the National Property Information Centre (NAPIC) reported that the median house price in Johor in 2019 is only RM350,000! So yes, it is possible to get a house within your budget here.
With that in mind, we set up a quest to hunt down affordable properties in Johor, namely properties that are below RM400,000 and here’s what we found:
1. Ulu Tiram – RM389,000

For small families who want the space for kids to run around but don’t need the extra bedrooms, this one-storey home in Ulu Tiram would be a good deal for you. This freehold property is perfect for those who don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city, but at the same time don’t want to be too far off as it takes only half an hour to get to Johor Bahru.
