8 super-stylish kids’ spaces to take inspiration from

test

If you’re thinking about redesigning or decorating a child’s room, these amazing photos of kids’ rooms and child-friendly spaces are sure to provide you with all of the inspiration you need.

What’s more, each expert was kind enough to share their tips to help you decide how to tackle the space.

1. Space saver

“A nursery with room to grow! This inner-Sydney home had to be smart on space, so a once unused roof space was repurposed to create a simple room with easily updatable decorative elements – ones that would easily transition from infant’s nest to teenager’s retreat as the little one grew up.” – Greg Natale, founder at Greg Natale Design.

2. Shared rooms

“Shared rooms don’t always have to mean bunk beds – try a few different layouts to see if you can accommodate two full-size beds. This is great for sleepovers, too!” – Belinda Kurtz, CEO and head designer at Petite Interior Co.

3. Head in the clouds

“Nubo is the first of its kind in play areas in Australia. Meaning cloud, Nubo helps children and families play, explore, connect, grow and learn together.” – Mollie Li, chief imagination officer, Nubo.

4. Sophisticated and fun

“Children’s bedrooms can be both sophisticated and fun. Use a combination of quality furniture pieces in interesting shapes and soft furnishings in colours that your little one loves.” – Belinda Kurtz, CEO and head designer at Petite Interior Co.

5. The perfect canvas

“A crisp white palette forms the basis of this bedroom with pops of blue and a few geometric reliefs and wall mouldings for interest. There is a classical ambience to this room but it’s not boring. As well as that, kids will be kids so the abundance of white won’t clash with all those things kids bring home with them to decorate their rooms!” – Greg Natale, founder at Greg Natale Design.

6. Into the blue

“This nursery is completely unexpected. I love the treatment of the grey and blue that’s used, and the feature wall which contrasts beautifully against the Scandinavian simplicity of the teeny cot. The room has an old-world charm and nostalgic sensibility. I just love it.” – Kristy Withers, founder at Incy Interiors.

7. Calming colour palette

“Steering away from the typical play centre clichés of bright colours, plastic toys and computer screens, the aim of the interior is to immediately instil a clean, carefully considered and aesthetically pleasing space for both the parents and children.” – Mollie Li, chief imagination officer, Nubo.

8. Colour pop

“More is more here and the brief was to create something with great pops of colour for this little girl’s room. A feature throughout this whole house is the use of incredible European wallpapers and decorative ceilings. This room is no exception.” – Greg Natale, founder at Greg Natale Design.
