As the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur brings to mind modern living, fast-paced city life, and an upscale lifestyle. It is no wonder that properties right in the city centre are constantly sought after with its strategic location and much regarded address despite premium prices.
Located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre (KLCC), the Vortex Suites & Residences is labeled as ‘high end metro’ and has been much talked about and desired ever since its quiet launch in early 2014. This is thanks to the combination of the solid reputation of Vortex’s developer, Monoland, and its prestigious city centre address. Monoland is well known for its Penang developments that are 8 Gurney and Gurney Park at Gurney Drive and Central Park. With their success in Penang, Monoland stepped in Kuala Lumpur with Oval Residence@KLCC, Oval Tower, Titiwangsa Sentral, and Vipod Suites.
Vortex is a convenient 10-minute walk to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC shopping centre. It is situated right on Jalan Sultan Ismail and opposite Shangri-La Hotel. While accessing Vortex via car can be a little difficult as the city centre has high-traffic flow, however public transport is an absolute breeze with both KLCC and Dang Wangi LRT stations, and the Bukit Nanas monorail station a stone’s throw away. Although the launch of Vortex was relatively quiet, but the buzz on it certainly was not. Interested buyers across various local forums were discussing and speculating prices and launch dates.
Completed in March/April 2016, Vortex was constructed in a record time of just over two years. A total of 248 apartments units are situated in a tower of 58 storeys. There are a total of five different unit sizes, which are 731 sq. ft., 744 sq. ft., 777 sq. ft., 811 sq. ft., and 826 sq. ft. Eight lifts service the tower in a two-tier system—four lifts to service the lower zone and another four lifts for the upper zone.
Vortex boasts some comprehensive amenities with the Vortex Sky Club @ Podium Roof, which consists of a Health Fitness Centre, 25m-lap pool, alfresco lounge, steam and sauna, sun loungers, and a chillout music pool bar. On the second floor is the Health Spa Centre with individual spa suites that are perfect for a little pampering after a long day. If you are looking for retail therapy and Suria KLCC is a little too far for you, then you will enjoy the two floors worth of retail shops in Vortex.
At the time of writing, prices on Vortex listed on iProperty.com start from RM870,000 for the smallest unit all the way up to RM1.4 million for the 826 sq. ft., which is the largest unit available. According to Brickz.my, the latest recorded sale for an 811 sq. ft. unit was at RM809,000, which is at RM1,000 per sq. ft. Although still relatively fresh from its completion, but the price of Vortex units since April 2016 has been steadily rising and is looking to keep moving in that direction.
