If an RA of a housing area decided to implement security services, do they have the right to force its resident to pay ? According to the RA, non-paying residents will not enjoy privileges such as security access card. To access, non-paying residents are to surrender their IC in order to access the housing area. However, in the event that the non-paying resident has never partake in any decision making by the RA and also never requested for security services, can the RA exert the security services to this non-paying resident? By the way, this non-paying resident has been staying in the housing area even before the implementation of the security services. Thank you for your advice and guidance.

execution of Memorandum Of Transfer (MOT) on property.

Recently I was asked to see a lawyer to execute the MOT on one of my property, can I execute the MOT on my own without going through the lawyer? if I have the means of doing it myself. thank you.

stamp duty on transfer of landed property.

I understand that transfer of landed property to own children will only be charged 50% of the normal rate of stamp duty. If true, how much is the stamp duty I have to pay on my property value 2.5mil. Please show the calculation.Thank you

Questions related to Memorandum of Transfer (MOT)

Hi, I have few questions about MOT: 1. Is there any specific period to settle the MOT payment? 2. For first house buyers, is it true that there is 50% discount for the MOT stamp duty amount? 3. If no. 2 is true, how to claim/clarify the 50% discount with lawyers who had given a quotation without it? 4. For shared buyers, lets say 2 names.... if one of them already bought a house, does the discount still applicable to other ? Hopefully someone can give answers. Really appreciate it.
