Buying amBumi lot, as a Bumi
Category : Home Owners       Location : Johor
My husband has bumi status but he has never bought a house before. We want to buy our first home from the developer, but they told us to to get a "Letter from SUK". We went to the SUK but they said they need a letter from the developer, so we have to go back to the developer and ask for a letter. But the developer said they can't release any letter until they see our SUK letter......?! Anyway now we are stuck. Can someone please tell us what actually is the procedure of buying a bumi lot? Thanks very much for help.

Poor condo facility but increased maintenance charges
Category : Home Owners       Location : Kuala Lumpur
I'm a condo unit owner in KL. The JMB in my condo has increased the maintenance charges recently. The last 4 years, the old rate was imposed but some of the condo common facilities like gym and sauna are not functional for more than 4 years. Also, the increase is partly due to other owners not paying any maintenance therefore there's a shortfall in monthly expenses. On top of the increase, there's an additional sinking fund to cover the non-payers. My question is, since some of the common facilities (ie: gym, sauna) are not funtionable, do I have the right not to pay the increase of the maintenance?
